Update from Anya's Good Samaritan Easter Ministry

 

Hello dear friends!

It was a joy to celebrate Easter holiday in the beginning of April! We think of Jesus His sufferings His resurrection. We are forgiven of our sins and there is an open way to the throne of the Father. When we experience the touch of God’s love we want other people to experience His love as well.  I’m grateful to God that I can share His love with the needy people. They come to get some food and some clothes for them and their children.

This time we had 43 families who got a package of food. We helped 15 single mums, 23 mums with many children (some of them are single and have to raise kids by themselves), 2 refugees and 3 families who have disabled members in their families. They all were happy to get some help.

This meeting was a week before Easter so we decided to do something special for kids and for the mothers. God gave me desire to give each family children’s Bibles. I knew that that would be a special present. At the end of March it seemed to me that I will not be able to prepare everything for the meeting due to different circumstances. At first we didn’t have the money to buy Bibles and food but when we miraculously got the money then I didn’t know how I would get Bibles here from Moscow.

I prayed to God asking, who gave me this idea. In the morning when I was talking to God about it my sister phoned me and asked me what she can do to help you to arrange things for the meeting of Good Samaritan. I gave her a list of things and explained her situation with the Bibles. I asked her to call churches or maybe some organizations and to ask if we can buy Bibles from them or some children Christian literature. Nadya, my sister, did everything that day. She found Bibles for a good price and arranged their transportation, she arranged people to come, and who helped me to do the meetings for the kids and for the mothers. God knew I wasn’t able to do everything by myself, though I was doing my best.

As we planned we had a meeting for mothers and for children and then we distributed food. Children and mothers listened to the story of Jesus and why He died on the cross at the end people who wanted to pray were given a chance to pray and give their life to Jesus. I know that some kids prayed and some mothers as well. Praise God. One thing I would like to mention here is that we had people from different churches participating in ministering that day. That was interesting how everything worked out I thank God for this opportunity to minister together.

The next meeting will take place on April 28th. We need to buy food and other supplies. We will also give the children the stickers and do some crafts. They enjoy doing crafts very much. Please, pray for this meeting. Also pray for us: we need God to provide us the finances to buy food. Although if there will be no food we will still meet and give out the clothes and do crafts with children.

Thank you so very much for prayers for your support. We do believe that God is watching over us and over the needy people who call on to Him. We pray that God would touch these people with His hand as we reached our hands to these people!

Every month I wonder what will happen and how things will happen God shows His faithfulness every time I pray to Him.
