Subject: Thank you from PHCH

Dear Stephanie, Donna, Howard and everyone else connected with Treasures of the Heart,

THANK YOU so much from the children and staff at Pleasant Hills Children's Home for your generous contribution of food, clothing and household items.  As we sorted through your donation and divided between everyone, we were overcome with a spirit of gratitude for the need being met.  The children were very happy!  Although they helped unload the items, they didn't realize that they actually had nectarines, plums, blueberries, strawberries, pineapples, oranges, pears, apples, grapefruit...until we sorted through the items after chapel.  And the snacks, canned goods, brooms and mops, underwear and socks, milk, eggs, meat and so much more!  THANK YOU!

It was a pleasure to meet Donna and Howard.  We hope that everyone enjoyed their chapel visit.  As we have many new children, for at least 1/2 of the kids present, this was only their 2nd chapel to attend.  Please pray that we are able to introduce each child here to Jesus Christ as his/her Savior.

Donna had mentioned that at least $3000 was spent at one shopping trip, plus more by the Christian Alliance and others.  We usually put the amount of donated items on our books -- if the amount is provided by the donor.  Would it be possible to know this amount?  If not, we can determine the fair market value of each item and approximate.  Also, do you want any mission's giving credit to be given to an Assembly of God church?  We send a quarterly report to the General Council.

Donna had also asked me what our present need is at this time.  When my husband and I arrived at the Home, the financial contributions were very low and a loan was taken to pay the bills.  God has helped the Home greatly this year and the income is increasing. Yet, we ended the fiscal year in the red and still need to pay back the loan.  Please pray specifically that Pleasant Hills Children's Home will be able to operate in the black this year and that the finances will be available to cover the daily operating expenses.  PHCH is operated 100% by donations.  Yet, "all things are possible to those who believe"...and we are believing God to continue to meet the need.

Again, thank you so much!  I cannot adequately express our gratitude.

Yours in Christ, Martha Thomassen
